To help our scholars take on the challenge of reading the vocabulary rich text, The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes, we viewed photos and discussed culture and fashion of this decade. Building background knowledge is a key component to reading comprehension, and next week students will be immersed into the 1940's setting, now with prior knowledge to enhance their journey.
